Shipping Information (Attachment #3)

I would like to make a few requests and pass on some information
that will make all our lives a little easier.

1. If anyone has made specific housing arrangements, or are planning
to do so, please let me know on the enclosed arrival form.
Once again we shall try to arrange local housing but due to
expected increase in number this may not be possible. For those
we can’t house, we are trying to arrange reduced rates at some
of the local Guesthouses.

2. Once again this year we will be arranging an Insurance policy to
cover all boats for both Race Week and North American’s to satisfy
the Entry requirement ONLY. You do not need to provide proof of
your own insurance.

3. We will need to have the hull number engraved or stenciled into
the transom of ALL boats coming in. This is a requirement of
Bermuda Customs and it helps speed the clearing into and out
of the Island. It will probably also help you on your return
with U.S. Customs.

4. VERY IMPORTANT - Do not ship ANYTHING in your boat except
your own sails, gear and tools. If anyone requests you to put
something in your boat to ship, please have them contact us directly.
If any boat arrives on the dock with anything in it we are not aware of,
the boat will be left on the dock and you will have to clear it yourself
and pay all relevant charges. We will contact you if the request to
ship things in your boat is valid and cleared through us.

5. There is a requirement mentioned this year in the Notice of Regatta
about membership in your National Sailing Authority. Please provide
the relevant proof with your entry form.

Listed on the following page you will find the names, addresses,
and contacts for the shipping companies to use for International Race Week.
Please contact these companies directly to book a shipping date.
Do not assume you can just turn up with a boat.
They would like to know when you will be brining the boats to the docks,
before you take them there, particularly when shipping from Florida and Salem.
We would like all the boats to be shipped so that they arrive by mid-April,
2000 at the latest. For those of you who are attending the Mid-Winters, you
can arrange to ship your boat from Florida directly after the Mid-Winters.
We will pick up and store the boats at the Spanish Point Boat Club until
Race Week / North Americans. For those of you who are not going to the
Mid-Winters, but wish to ship early; do so…. The earlier, the better
